Hi, I'm Evie Baek.
Everlyn (Evie) Baek is a Korean photographer based in Montreal, Canada. They are an experimental fine art photographer concerned with themes of vulnerability, melancholy, and nostalgia. Their process involves creating dreamy and ethereal imagery – whether it be portraiture, landscape, or abstract – through distinct methods during shooting and postproduction. Driven by dreams, Evie explores how to make them come true. The work they produce is often deeply personal, involving aspects of their queer and ethnic identity, as well as their mental health. They explore complex themes surrounding these parts of their identity, wanting to create a dialogue to deconstruct and dissect. Which also makes this labour of love deeply political, as all art is.
